As the biggest manufacture and export base of new energy products in China, Wuxi has initially formed a hi-tech photovoltaic industry cluster with advanced technology, complete industrial chain, strong innovation capability and international competitiveness. It contains more than 40 enterprises specializing in photovoltaic industry and a number of supporting works in the base with R&D cost accounting for 5% of the total sales as well as over 40 authorized patents, and the photo-electric transition rates of monocrystalline and polycrystalline photovoltaic panels are 18% and 16% respectively, which are leading in the world. Meanwhile, the wind power industry is rising rapidly and its industrial chain is taking shape. There are over 20 wind power equipment manufacturing enterprises.
