Yangzhou Economic & Technological Development Zone has accredited as the national technology innovation base by the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Science and Technology in Sep.2012. It was entitled as "The National Semiconductor Lighting Industrial Base" by the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2007, and was upgraded to the national economic and technological development zone in July 2009. It was accredited as the national eco-industrial demonstration park by the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2010. Currently it has the National Export Processing Zone.

Now, the industry chain of semiconductor lighting is basically formed. The whole industry chain is basically connected featuring "substrate material, epitaxial wafer, chip, packaging, application and assorting". According to the industry chain, it has brought in a group of excellent enterprises, such as : Yangzhou ZHONGKE Semiconductor lighting Co.,Ltd, Jiangsu CANYANG Optoelectronics LTD, Changelight Co., Ltd, Yangzhou Edison Optoelectronics, Yangzhou JUNMAO Optoelectronics Co., Ltd, Yangzhou Troyz Optoelectronics Co., Ltd, etc. In 2011 it has 28 semiconductor lighting companies. The output value of them was more than 35 billion yuan with average annual increase of over 40%. In the upstream chain, tens of Taiwan enterprises are moving to the Development Zone. Sinoma Group and other large enterprises are engaging in the LED industry in the Development Zone.
